This repair kit fixes the door counterbalance pulley mount. Symptom of a faulty counterbalance pulley, is a very heavy door that falls open in dangerous way. This condition occurs when one or both of the counter balance springs get disconnected from the door. The likely cause is a canted pulley from locallized cracking of the pulley mounting features on the main injection molded plastic base. This can happen from a large pet or a small child standing on the door when it is open. Replacement of the injection molded part is impractical as replacing the part, (if it was available), requires complete disassembly of the dishwasher. The repair consists of an auxiliary outboard support for the left and right side pulley's. Time for the installation of the repair should take less than 10 minutes once the dishwasher is pulled out from under the counter. ' The kit consists of a Left and Right bracket for each side of the dishwasher, the self tapping screws to hold the new brackets on, plus an axle screw for each side.
